My Workspace

Adam at Editing Hat and Stacey at Flibbity Gibbit have both posted pictures of their workspace and inspired me to do the same.

First of all, this is pretty much what it always looks like, give or take a plate or book. Now for some explanation:

> The white books on the left are my web design tutorials. I'm studying Flash now and I'm using the Dreamweaver book to prop it up while I read.

> The two plastic bottles are filled with sand and serve as hand weights. I sometimes lift them while reading stuff online. The wristbands are because I have weak wrists & they sometimes hurt if I've been mousing a lot.

> The speakers are so I can hear the Bejeweled guy say "Excellent!" really, really loudly.

> Notepads, pen, and highlighter are all self-explanatory.

> The purple cup is ALWAYS full of water.

> And finally, Owen. He's normally on the floor directly beneath my chair, but I put him there so I could get a closer shot of the desk.

Care to play along? If you post a picture, leave a comment so I know to check it out!

I love that orange. So energizing. (I should know this by now, but) Is Owen a schnauzer? I think they are so cute.

And who is the bejeweled guy??

I love the color! How festive. My dog is always at my workspace, too.

Very nice! Love the hand weight idea. My wrists are crappy too, so I may have to do that. :-)

Pink, Owen IS a Schnauzer. (man that word is annoying to type). Bejeweled is a game on Facebook. Love. It.

Wendy, I love the color too. I think Ibis still hates it, but it keeps me energized.

Adam, the wrists & weights aren't necessarily related, but the weights make me feel better about sitting on my @ss all day. (and thanks)

Natasha, I figured...

I forgot to mention -- Ibis built my desk. :)

Another note -- the beautiful work table was made by none other than Ibis! He does wonderful wood work...

So fun! I love that Ibis made the desk!! It looks great!!

The hubby and I share a desk - it's huge - and my side is always messy and his side is always clean, lol. I'll take a picture of it right now and e-mail it. As much as I am tempted to clean it before I take a picture, I won't. :)

You guys are lucky. You have workspaces. My workspace is a TV table with my laptop on it in the living room.

A TV table?? You are lucky, I used to have to work in a shoe box in the middle of the road....*

Sorry, I don't have a work station.
And I like the desk Ibis made.
From what I have seen the man has some talent.
And really, Owen is on the floor? I kinda have a hunch that he is in your lap more than on the floor, you just don't want to admit you spoil him.

*reference to Monty Python.

A shoebox in the middle of the road?

You were lucky. I used to write in a paperback floating in a septic tank!

:D

Thought I'd have fun and I posted my TV table.

JLC, I love yours!

Nadine, I didn't clean mine either. I thought about it, but I just stepped back so you can't see the dust. :P

Ferret, I don't know how you sit like that...

Penguin, rofl! Yes, Ibis is very talented, but you wouldn't know it to ask him. Owen really does sit on the floor (98% of the time) because he doesn't sit still in my lap. He either chews on my wrist, the keyboard, my fingers, my stomach, my shirt, or my shorts, or he wants to sleep with his head on my wrist.

Thanks Stacey!

Nice work space! Owen looks very happy on the chair. I hope he gave it back to you.

I'm impressed with the neatness! I manage to crap up every workspace with misc. garbage. Your stuff all has a purpose. Well, maybe used lollipop wrappers have a purpose. And empty Diet Coke cans definitely have a purpose.

Wow. Ibis built your desk, that is so cool. My husband would chop a finger off if he tried that...LOL not really, but he is accident prone.

Love the space, color of the wall- love the mac, and of course Mr. Owen, who always makes any picture better :) My pic would be boring. It's just my recliner in my living room...

This is cool. I love seeing people's desks. I'm sure I posted a photo of my desk on my blog somewhere...oh and wait, it was on the site Desked.com - http://desked.wordpress.com/2009/05/25/benjamin-solahs-desk/

Oh and I love the Mac. The screen looks so nice. I want a Macbook really badly.

I often have a mental picture of you in that very spot, since it's where you are when we do most of our communicating! ;)

Robin, we have so many ants, etc, that if I don't keep it clean they'll carry away all my stuff.

Thanks Erica. I sanded the desk surface -- it was a really rough piece of wood before that -- but he did all the tricky stuff.

Benjamin, your desk is cool too. :)

Janna, that is true! How often are you at your little nook?
