My Alarm Clock

This is what I wake up to every morning. I've been meaning to share for a while but bringing the camera to bed is not always first on my mind.

This is the actual view when I'm lying down.

And, I repainted the kitchen wall yesterday! It had taken a beating with all the concrete, etc, so I picked a more vibrant color. It's not as dark as I'd hoped but I still like it. Today I'm going to repaint a small wall near the bathroom that was the same gross orangey color. Then I'll try to get back to editing.

I'm with Aaron, I LOVE the hillside view out your door there.

Great sunrise to wake up to!

Wow, what a way to wake up in the morning.
I would take that any day over Chi-town, but you know how I feel about crowded areas.

Nice pictures!

What you are doing in Mexico ... is making the rest of us jealous.

Aaron, Wendy & Janna, I love watching the sun come up every morning.

Penguin, yes, you'd probably like it here, except there's no snow.

Travis, I feel like I complain about it so much I need to show a few of the nice things. :)

So, that's what the sun looks like! :) Great view, and I love the paint colors!

I wish I woke up every morning to that.

And the mountains are nice, too. ;)

Now that's a gorgeous view. Since I'm not a dawn riser, I'd probably never see the pink-tinged hillside altogether and wake to the sunny hillside!

And snow is a drawback to Chicago. A drawback. You crazy midwesterners!

To be fair, that was at 7:30. I don't get up too early.

Yay for sunshiney-ness!

Wow, that is absolutely priceless! Amazing! And your kitchen looks incredible. I just remembered you don't have an oven, is that right? What a bummer!

Melanie Hooyenga said...

Spy, I think you can see all of my cooking apparatuses'ss's (appartati?) in the picture. No oven. :(

Okay, that's gorgeous and you're too cute for words. That's not fair to those of us who are munching pre-Halloween candy and browsing through people's blogs while we wonder why our pants don't fit! Couldn't you get some unsightly tourists to pose in your place?

Yay, the color looks great. However, I'll make that decision for myself when I get THERE!

10 more days!

Turkey, LOL.

Ferret, you naughty boy you.

Amy, you're too sweet. :) I'll try to find some tourist pics, or better yet, I'll take some of my dad when he gets here.

Yay Kris!!! I also painted the wall between the two bedrooms where the full length mirror is.

That is a gorgeous view!

Wow! That view is amazing. I really like the color you painted the kitchen, too.

I think the no oven thing is brilliant! I'm getting rid of my oven right now! I'll never cook again! Mwahahahaha!

By the way, my dad is really going to enjoy that view. I hope he gets along with your dad. Will your dad mind that my dad's staying with you while your dad has to stay in a condo? Awkward.

Melanie Hooyenga said...

Thanks Lauren.

OMG Robin, you are killing me! We had quite a fight over the oven but when Ibis pointed out that I rarely cooked, I caved. I cook more now and really miss it, but I don't miss the heat.

And, my dad will be staying in an apartment so your dad can stay in the guest room. Or bunk with my dad. Actually, that might be a better option, even though the view is a little different. (pictures my overweight dad snoring on the bed)

Beautiful view, and i love the color!!

Melanie, my mom snores like a freight train, and my dad wears ear plugs to bed. No problem!

I really love your kitchen.

Wow--some cool picures! What are you doing in Mexico?

Melanie Hooyenga said...

I love how no one commented on how SMALL the kitchen is. You realize if I stick my elbows out I hit the wall, right? lol.

Welcome Terri, we're in Zihuatanejo. If you look at the tabs there are a ton of links about our little town here. :)
