Life Without the Internet

Our internet died Friday afternoon and we finally got it working this morning. Thankfully TelMex works seven days a week, and I even remembered to write down all the steps so we should be able to fix it ourselves next time.

So, two days without the internet, what does one do? Well, besides finishing typing all my handwritten words for my wip, I went through tons of photo cds that have been sitting on our shelves, most of the which are from our wedding. Friends who took pictures thoughtfully sent us copies, so it was like discovering a whole other side to our big day.

Our friend Jennie took tons of pictures while we danced at the reception, including at least thirty of one salsa dance.

I love how my dress is swirling in this picture. We love to salsa dance but my dress was so heavy it threatened to knock Ibis over and nearly took me with it. So, not too many salsa dances that night.

Then there's this one.

I think this is either our attempt at flamenco or paso doble, neither of which we actually know how to dance. What kills me is how seriously we're taking it. I about died laughing when I found it.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Those pictures are awesome. Oh man, the look on your faces in the second picture is hilarious! Humor aside, you looked lovely, and Ibis looked very handsome.

I think you are ready for Dancing with the Stars.

Thanks Janna. :)

Robin, we are VERY serious, rofl.

Wendy, that's where we first learned about the paso doble!

You guys look fabulous! You look like you're having a blast! I love it.

I was wondering what happened to you. Mac was starting to look hungry. :-)

Spy, you know he was one of the top things I was worried about. I'm sick.

Yeah, anytime I vanish for more than half a day without advance warning it means the internet is down. Apparently quite a few people lost their connection with all the storms we've had lately.

Thanks Colby, I love the dress too. :) The seamstress had to shorten it by about a foot!

Looks like you had a great time! I love the idea of getting pictures from friends and family to see a whole new side to a event. I'm going to make it a point to ask family members if they can make me some prints from now on.

You guys are intense dancers!

Welcome, salsa blog! (?) Your site looks pretty cool. :)

Rachel, we're really not, we just play it up for the crowd. Well, maybe a little, lol.

Melanie those pictures are great! It's very cool you guys got to dance with complicated dances at your wedding.

As for losing your Internet, that totally sucks. If the Internet company down there was able to get you online, what was causing you to be off-line? Being a computer geek, perhaps I can provide some input.

Aaron, we had to log into the server's IP whatcha-hooey and re-enter a bunch of numbers. I wrote it all down so we can do it on our own next time. The biggest problem was just getting them on the phone.

About the dances, we met salsa dancing way back in 2000. We don't go out much now, but it's a big part of our lives.
