A Happy Wednesday

Today is a big day!

First, my aunt Karen is being roasted over at Book Roast. If you've never heard of Book Roast, one week each month they "roast" five authors with new novels, asking silly questions about the book and the author is there to answer questions. I believe there are even prizes! I've already posted and one of the questions involves a haiku with several word prompts.

Second, Ibis has today off and he's promised to install our new toilet paper holder. This may seem like a minor thing but it's amazing how trained your brain becomes about where certain things are, and how long it can take to untrain them. I'd love to have it there before my friend arrives on Friday. :)

Third (and really most important because three is my lucky number), I finished my edits yesterday! I've been averaging about ten pages per day but forced myself to get through twenty-two. Several things tried to distract me, like a huge lightning storm (during which time I turned off the computer) and a huge fire on the hill across from our house (exciting!), but I did it. This leaves me time to do one final run-through before sending it off to my readers in time for NaNo.

Anything exciting happening today?

Thanks for the link--I'll check it out.

Nursing a mild hangover here today. The hubs and I went out last night to celebrate our wedding anniversary and had a little too much champagne.

Yes! That's so great! Well done.

I'll check Karen's link out now.

Happy belated Anniversary, Wendy! *hands over two tylenol and a cup o' joe*

Wendy, happy anniversary! I think I woke up with your hangover, but mine was caused by late night reading. I picked up Drowning Ruth two days ago and while I only read one chapter the first night, last night I got halfway through the book!

Thanks Janna! I still have a few details to tweak before I can send it to my readers (giggle) but I'm getting them locked down.

I will definitely check out the link when I get home! Happy anniversary, Wendy!

OK. This is totally true. What am I doing today? I am setting my alarm for 12m so I can be on a radio show from Canada that deals with the paranormal. I ageed before I knew what the show was about, and I have no clue how they got my name. Past topics of shows include "Dying - The Best Thing I Ever Did" and "Hitler's Alien Ships". If that's not funny, I don't know what is.

Thanks guys! And I love me a turkey dance. :)

Robin, Robin, Robin... please tell me this interview will be recorded so we can laugh, er, listen to it at a later date?

Sounds like a big day! We're somewhat backwards in our marriage; I'd never bother with the toilet paper holder, but Alex gets annoyed when I don't change the new roll. I'm only crusading to break unfortunate gender stereotypes, really.

New toilet paper holder!!! I wish I could get one (seriously!) I hate the one in my bathroom downstairs because it moves when you go to rip off the paper and...oh, let's just say I want another one.

Hm, exciting? I have a rehearsal tonight where I get to use my British accent! So I'm excited about that!

Rachel & Colby, I forgot to mention that our entire house is made of concrete and the bathroom also has tile, so he has to cut into the concrete & tile to install things. If it was just a screwdriver thing I could do that!

Melanie,
If you want a laugh, go to
www.xzoneradio.com. It's beyond weird. The list of past guests and topics is the best part. No one but my husband will be willing to stay up for this one. It's 9p, pst.

We're on central time but I'll try to listen in!

Hi Melanie,

I just posted an interview with fellow debut thriller writer, and a very talented Aunt of yours. Maybe something there you didn't know. And, maybe you may know and Englishman who will help me out. You'll see what I mean on the post.

Keep at it.

Crap! Robin, I forgot! And I wasn't even doing anything good - just watching the Matrix 2.

Thanks Spy & Zoe. :)

JJ, that's awesome. Thank you for letting me know. I'll check it out right away.
