Anyone Have 20K Words to Spare?

I did it! I forced myself to actually TURN OFF the internet and I finished my wip. I wrote about 2000 words yesterday, which didn't add nearly as many as I need, but it's all there. The loose ends are tied up, a couple people die, and I still feel really good about it.

I have two friends lined up to read/critique it for me so I hope to get through it a couple more times between now and the end of this month. During that time I'd also like to get working on an outline for my new idea so I've got plenty to keep me busy. Thanks again for all the suggestions the other day - you've really got my mind churning (in a good way).

I'm not feeling too well today so I'm going to keep this short, but I have to share one final thing. This morning while I was on the path near the ocean I saw a sting ray! A really big one (3-4 feet across) with spots. I know a man who snorkels in that area and he sees them all the time, but that was a first for me. As I watched it flip around in the shallow water I looked up and saw a cruise ship turning into the bay. Not a bad way to start the morning. :)

Wow, Melanie that is so awesome! Congrats on getting your WIP completed! Don't worry about fattening it up, as that will come in the editing stages. It's so amazing to have that sense of completion. Great job!

Very cool about the stingray. I've never seen one in person. Hope you feel better.

Ditto the congrats. Yay, you!

I agree - I love stingrays.

Congratulations, Melanie!

I read your post, and I thought, "Aw. I wonder if Melanie has a cold." (That's the annoying Yenta in me.) Then I looked down at your labels, and saw that one is "migraine". Ha!

Thanks everyone.

Robin, it's the very beginning stages so I think it's more the dread that it's coming than anything else.

Congratulations! I agree with Aaron...that fattening will come! That's so increidibly exciting and SUCH a great feeling. Now, I must get back to work on my own- I should take a leaf out of your book and turn off my dratted internet!

Colby, I'm jealous of YOU, miss I have all kinds of fulls and partials out. :)

I think it helps that for some reason messenger has stopped dinging when I get emails. Now I don't have to check every three minutes.

Congrats on the WIP, Mel.

Sorry about the migraine, I now know what they are, and they really can put a person out. Dark rooms have become my favorite place to be.

Thanks Penguin. :) (I don't know if I can get used to calling you that, lol)

Unfortunately Mexico is very very bright. So far I'm feeling ok...

Melanie, for clarification sake, I thought figuring out what was going on from your label was amusing, not the migraine itself. I am not a horrible migraine mocker, I swear. I have total sympathy for migraines. There! I just hit myself over the head with a frying pan so I could completely empathize with you, as a migraine sufferer. There! I did it again for emphasis.

Robin, you silly. I got that. ;) Please stop hitting yourself with frying pans.

Thanks for saying that, Melanie. I was getting quite the headache.
