Red Wings Win!

I don't talk about sports much here but I am a big fan. My favorite is hockey and the Red Wings won the Stanley Cup last night for the fourth time in eleven years. Can we say dyna– maybe it's too early for that.

Game 5 was such a let-down, with the Penguins tying it up with less than a minute to go, and they almost repeated with only a few seconds left last night. BUT, the Wings showed why they deserve the cup and Osgood held on to the lead.

I went to the parade in Detroit in '98 and I wish I could go again this year. Ugh, so exciting!

I borrowed these images from the Detroit Free Press. Click on if you care to join the celebration!

Congrats to you and your team. While I'm an Islanders fan, the Penguins are my 'b team' and it was a nice run they had. The Wings did awesome and I haven't seen such methodical defense in a long time. While game 3 was a Pitt win, that was probably the most even-matched and most exciting game in the series.

Pittsburgh definitely showed they deserved to be in the Finals. While I appreciate the excitement of well matched teams, it's very nervewracking!

I'm into hockey for the fighting...I like to sit up close to watch them slam into the glass. Is that weird?

Not at all. :D

LOL. I once had a shirt that said "Go watch a fight and maybe a hockey game will break out."

Glad your team could bring some excitement your way! Oh, and the Polynesian dancer is headed your way, too. Just don't tell Ibis.

Janna - suhweet.

Aaron - I actually commented that this series should do a lot to bolster the NHL's reputation because there were very few fights and really not many penalties. They just played good hockey.
