No Analysis Necessary

A couple nights ago I had one of those dreams where I was working at my old job, but it wasn't the same office, and while some of my former coworkers were with me, there were also a couple people from other times in my life.

Note: I love that about dreams -- it's a chance to see everyone!

So, I was at work, presumably in Chicago, but it was known that I was still in Mexico. I was talking with a coworker when the phone rang. The receptionist announced over the intercom that "Mexico" was on the line for me.

Note: It should really be "the United States", but dream logic doesn't always make sense. And really, at the very least, it should be a department calling.

I snatched up the phone. "Yes? Yes?" Did they have an answer? Would we finally learn our fate?

A woman began speaking in English. "We've reviewed your file and have found that everything is in order..."

My heart leapt.

But she wasn't finished.

She proceeded to speak legalese for another five minutes: "...contrary to what the documents stated, we're unable to determine..." blah blah blah.

I started crying and finally interrupted her. "Please. Just tell me yes or no."

And then I woke up.

"Mrs. Avila, this is Chicago calling. We have a pair of first-class plane tickets waiting for you and your husband at the local aeorpuerto. Please to be boarding the next plane ..."

There. Revision done.

Maybe people can only have one piece of awesome news at a time. You had awesome news yesterday. Once you are fully recovered from it, then more awesome news will arrive. :)

Janna, it wasn't a good way to start the day (although it did pick up...).

Lurker, I LOVE it!

JLC, I actually had that Monday morning, so I certainly didn't expect my day to take the turn it did.

Maybe it's a sign you will hear soon. lat night I dreamed I was poaching wild turkeys off of a dirt road. Weird anyway but given my seventh grade shop teacher was with me it was really freaky.

Travis, that is bizarre! Were you teaching yourself? I've had people be different people in my dreams, but I think I've always played myself.

I've been debating about going back to work and then on Sunday night (same night you dreamt) I had a dream about working again and all the office politics. When I woke up Monday morning, I was like "no way." :)

I hope your dream signals that you will be hearing very soon!!

*sigh* Man. *hugs* I swear, I'm thinking and hoping every day.

I like Lurker's revision. :-)

I get what you mean about the visits. I LOVE dreaming about Taekwondo because of that! I miss it so much, and it's like I get to be there again! For awhile there, it feels so real, the people, and you really feel like it's a real visit. Or I do, LOL.

I like Lurker's revision, too. Now, where's that phone call for reals? Enough already with the waiting.

Nadine, I don't know if I could go back to working in an office. I loved my coworkers, but that's not enough reason.

Well, the paycheck was nice too.

Melanie Hooyenga said...

Natasha, exactly! Every now and then I'll have dreams with friends or family that I haven't seen in ages and it's like we had a little get together. :)

Wendy, you're not kidding...

Robin, I haven't had any more like that since...
