Please Take Them Away From Me Before I End Up Bald

So many of my friends are on Facebook that I sometimes forget to mention things here on my blog that might be of interest. The latest? I... uh... found a spare moment yesterday - in the midst of constant web projects - to do a little "home renovation."

This is never a good sign:

The end result:

I've been wanting to cut my hair for months and months, but held off because Ibis likes it long. Well, it's getting warmer and, frankly, I'm sick of having to sleep with my hair twisted up and tucked behind my head so it doesn't brush over my skin, making me hallucinate and think there are bugs crawling on me. I rarely wore it down because it's too hot, so at least now my back won't sweat when I'm trying to look "nice." :P

I want to cut a couple more inches but I'll get used to this before doing anything more drastic. I might even break down and visit a salon.

Looks good and it is still relatively long.

You know, my first wife had long, beautiful hair that she had to lift up before sitting down. I loved the way it flowed across the small of her back.

Right after we married, she cut it short... short... She cut it above her shoulders... She cut 16" of hair at one time... God rest her soul...

It took me hours to glue the pieces back on for the funeral.

Ask Ibis if he would like to borrow a pistol. I have one, only used once.

[removing tongue from cheek]

Allen, only married once so far as the law knows.

Travis, when I was thinking about doing it, some people apparently thought I meant really short. I'm still tempted and I did pull out the scissors again last night, but I'll try to hold off.

Allen, LOL!

I've asked him several times if he was okay with it, and while he never gave a resounding yes, he didn't seem overly concerned. I don't think he likes it, but I've kept it long for him for two years - I need a break!

I think it looks fantabulous! I'm thinking I'm going to visit a salon tomorrow, so I look decent when Glenn gets home. I'm at the wearing-a-bun stage, because it's so long and it won't DO anything.

He'll think he came home to someone from a different century, if I don't!

You look fabulous, Melanie!

I'm having my hair cut today, but I will not be as brave. I will most likely keep my hair long (to middle of my back). We'll see ;-)

Spy, I highly doubt you look like you're from another century, lol. His homecoming seems like a good enough reason to make an appointment. It's amazing how good you feel after someone pampers you for a bit.

Thanks Pink. I still think it looks pretty blah, but at least it's not sticking to my back anymore.

My hubby has always liked longer hair, too. Hm.

It's a fresh look that didn't lose too much length. It looks great!

Thanks. :) I want to cut mooooooooore...

It looks adorable! And change with hair is a good thing cause if you don't like it, it grows back!

It looks terrific! (Like you could look any other way.) I had long hair for years and those humid summers were murder here in SC. My second husband, God love him, says "Whatever makes you happy." I just got my spring shearing a week ago. Takes me about a minute and a half to dry it.

Well, I think I told you this on FB, but I really like it, Mel. I think it's cute, and looks good on you.

I don't really miss my extra-long hair, so maybe I'm a little biased, but I *really* think it looks good.

It looks cute now, and I can totally see you in a chin length bob. :)

I love it, Mel! It's not very short, either. You can easily pull it back and play around with it.

Thanks ladies!

Amy, it was the heat that finally made me do it. That and one too many nights of trying to rip my hair out because I thought it was a bug.

Turkey, don't encourage me! I was just eyeing the scissors again...

Robin, I just tested it at the beach and it stays back well enough!
