Lockdown '09: Day Three

Happy Earth Day! My friend Sara is celebrating at her blog The Hero Complex. If you have kids, she's doing a giveaway that looks pretty cool. Heck, check it out even if you don't have kids.

I feel a little guilty. I've made a lot of you feel bad for me that I'm stuck in the house with nothing to do, or that I'm unable to do things that I want to, when really, I'm usually home during the day. I tend to run errands between 8am and 10am -- before Ibis goes to work -- then I park in front of the computer until he gets home. So really, this isn't much of a stretch for me.

The biggest change is that Ibis has three days off this week and we'd normally go to the beach at least one of those days. But other than that, I've been really busy with web work and wouldn't have been able to leave even if I'd been allowed. Yesterday I even pushed some of my chores onto him since he was just lounging most of the day. ;)

I don't have much else to report. I worked on the next three paragraphs of my synopsis yesterday and I'm while a little worried to see what she has in store for us today, I'm excited to keep fleshing it out.

Anything new you want to share?

Yay, thanks Mel! :-) Happy Earth Day! Since you're stuck in the house, I wont mind if you wait till next week to hug a tree. Hehe.

I still have a couple hours to sneak out, or I could do it later tonight. Do palm trees count?

Well darn, if they would just show up and let you off the hook already! It's just the idea that someone is "making" you hole up at home.

Happy Earth Day, girls!

Nothing new happening here! Since Ibis is home, I can think of one more thing for you to add to your list. *wiggles eyebrows*

Janna, that's true. My biggest complaint is I tend to work out in the middle of the day, and then take a shower. I'm concerned they'll show up then.

Turkey, I've got my list ready. *waggles back*

I got my publisher's weekly review from the Amazon contest. Not great but not as bad as I feared when I failed to make the cut. I may put it up on my blog later on.

Travis, that must have been a nerve-wracking moment before you opened it. I hope it helps you.

Happy Earth Day! I still feel sorry for you. There's a big difference between not going out and not being able to go out, LOL! :-) At least for me. As soon as I "can't" do something, it's all I want to do!

Bummer that they haven't shown up already! I'm hoping that today is the day!

My cat started limping yesterday, but we're hoping its just sympathy limping for me :) He seems better today so that is good. I think he got bit by something.

Spy, very true. Ibis just fixed the leaky hose - just in time for earth day!

Nadine, I don't know if I'm supposed to laugh at that, but I did a little. I hope you both heal soon (and I love your new idea!)

Only two more days to go...........

Melanie Avila said...

I was just thinking that.

I'm going to have Ibis check with them tomorrow just in case they're going to try to pull some crap that they showed up and I wasn't here.

I was hoping to get on here & find you had had your visit!! Too bad --- maybe tomorrow. Things seem to be back to normal here & we are getting back into the usual daily routine for Vancouver.

Melanie Avila said...

Kay, it's getting ridiculous! Every time I hear someone on the stairs I get excited.

I'm glad you're getting back into your routine. It was so nice meeting you!

If they don't come by tomorrow, they're in Big Fat Trouble. (That's what I tell my kids, and they always get scared.)

Melanie Avila said...

Robin, maybe I should make a sign that says "BFT". They'll be shaking in their flip-flops.

Even if you would normally be in the house, being there out of choice and being there because you have to be are two completely different things. Well, at least they would be for me.
