My First Vlog!

My friend Janna posted a video last week so we could hear her voice. One downside of only knowing people online is we have no idea what everyone sounds like. Sometimes it's a bit of a shock, but for the most part, it's fun to experience a new part of someone you consider a friend.

So, without further adieu, allow me to present a Tour Through Zihua:

Ibis swears a couple times under his breath so I suppose I'll give this a language warning, but it's not very loud.

Enjoy!

ETA: Several people have had problems viewing the video. I'm wondering if it will work if you click the actual video instead of the little play button in the lower corner. That will take you to YouTube instead of trying to view from my blog.

My kids loved watching this - now they want to go to Mexico. You have the accent of a fellow Midwesterner but without the nasally tone that my Midwestern accent takes. And shiny skin? PSHT. You looked gorgeous!

Great video. I added you to the My Town Monday list.

Fantastic, Mel! You sound just like I thought you would. :)

I always find speed bumps funny. People simply speed to the next bump.

Thank so much. An excellent tour.

I loved watching this!

Although, I do have to defend LA a bit :) I grew up in the Valley and we had lots of green trees - just the hills were brown. :P

I liked the film. It is interesting to see the places people live. I may get inspired and do a video as well, but I do not think it will be as interesting. Here's a pine tree. Now, a pine tree. Other there, yup! a pine tree.

BTW,according to my son, the next George Lucas, never put a gun on the mantle without shooting someone and never put a husband and a wife together with them kissing. It makes people think one of them will kill the other.

Got me...

Melanie, you are so adorable! I don't know why, but I cracked up throughout that video. It reminded me of our family vacations when I was little, and my mom would narrate into a tape recorder stuff like, "We're passing a big mountain, now. Robin likes the big mountain. Right, Robin?"

It's funny - the area looks nicer on video than in pictures. In the video it looks a little like Miami or something. The pictures (just of people) look sort of sinister.

Ed, WHY???

Aerin, thanks. *blush*

I think Chicago knocked the nasal out of me. Or DC. I lived in both places for over 7 years.

Thanks Travis! Funny how I keep posting these things on Monday without even thinking of that.

Jen, really? Interesting...

Turkey, you don't know how many arguments we've had because Ibis loves to speed up between them. Meanwhile I'm getting whiplash in the passenger seat.

Thanks Terry. Welcome!

Nadine, I know there are some trees, but my impression while there was that everything was dry and dusty. It could have been the areas we were visiting, but I said while there that I could never live like that. I need green.

Allen, LOL at both comments. I thought this was going to bore people to tears. There's another car, more people, another palm tree, whoopee!

I guess we could've kissed, but then you would have seen him rolling his eyes at me the entire time, lol.

That was great. It was nice to have your voice on there also.
To me it seemed like a little ride in the car with you guys.
You and Ibis are looking good.
I could do one of GR, but I think you would find it very boring, not to mention redundant.

Robin, I'm glad it doesn't look as creepy.

Your story about your mom reminded me of one with my mom - my first year at college she brought the video camera to show my gramma the campus. She had me narrate and that was the first time I noticed the campus was surrounded by mountains. As in it's located IN a valley. I was a very observant 18 year old.

Oh WOW! I absolutely loved this, Melanie! It is so cool to see everything. Okay, you have to do more! Pretty please?! With sugar on top?

This was totally cool!

Spy, I know I should probably do one of the beach, no?

I have been going to Zihua for about four years now. We have a fractional ownership at Club Intrawest on Playa La Ropa. I've been reading your blog from time to time. It was nice seeing your Vlog. Made me wish I was there. Keep up the good work. Some beach and restaurant recommendation Vlogs would be nice.
