This Might Help

This won't make it any cooler, but it will certainly make it more bearable.

Ibis likes it too.

We still have to figure out a few logistics, like how does the other person watch TV while one of us is in the hammock, but I trust we'll find a solution.

(I feel like I should host a game of I-Spy with these pictures, lol!)

Do you have anything unique in your house? I already know that Robin has a kitchen painted the colors of a psychotic clown and Turkey has melted ice cream all over her walls (the color, not really ice cream), but does anyone else have something they want to share?

Wow, I'm totally boring. I don't have a living room. I have a kitchen, studio, a waiting room, and a bedroom. Which might explain why I spend my free time at Borders. Unless I want to sit at the piano or in bed, I'm out of luck, LOL!

PS: I love the hammock! But I'm still hoping for the kiddie pool. :-)

Spy, you'll have to post a picture of your studio sometime. I'm so curious what it looks like.

I don't know if the kiddie pool is going to happen... we'll see. :)

Here's one. The futon is gone (too many kids jumping on it and it wouldn't sit up anymore, LOL, and opposite the grand piano is an upright piano. I have a little desk to sit at while the students play, too, but no picture of it. :-)

I spy a Hopi dancer! (I think.)

LOVE the hammock. What a cool idea! I got one for Mike for Christmas, and now's the perfect time to hang it up outdoors. We'll have to get on that.

What's something unique in my house? All the doors in our loft (two closets, bathroom and master bedroom) came from North Kansas City High School - my alma mater! Not everyone can say that. :D They're incredibly wide, with three panels of glass each (the bathroom one has frosted glass inserts).

Janna, that's really cool! I sometimes watch EcoRenovations and they had an episode where they took the floorboards from a local high school, refinished them, and installed them in a house. I'd love to have that kind of history in my home -- I much prefer it over new construction (not that there's anything wrong with that...).

We've had the hammock for a couple months but he wasn't sure how it'd work to hang it. It's hooked onto our barred door, which was a flash of inspiration yesterday.

I think it's actually a fertility god, or something like that. My sister takes offense to him.

I say get a hammock for two. That way you both can watch TV.
I don't have anything interesting in my Apartment.
But I think I might have some crack dealers in the downstairs apartment.
Does that count?

I was totally going to post a pic of my back yard because I've found it's a great place to edit. I'll do that later.

The hammock is great -- can you sit up on it and make enough space for 2?

Hmmm...

That hammock looks great! Hubby's dad installed one of those hammock chairs in his living room. It hung from his ceiling. At the time my B.I.Ls were in their teens and liked to sit in it to watch TV.

My main floor has 6 different types of flooring. White carpet, brown carpet, parquet, vinyl, marble, and porcelain. We will eventually get rid of the white carpet, vinyl, parquet, and marble floors and replace them with the same material. (Sigh) Home improvement is never ending.

Nice hammock, lol! The guy looks like he's enjoying it.

Penguin, we used to have those too.

The problem with a two-person hammock is you have to TOUCH. It's way too hot for that.

And technically this IS built for two. We'll both fit it in, but I don't know if I trust the bolt in the wall.

Melanie Hooyenga said...

Amy you should!

Turkey, we have one of those hammock chairs and it is not nearly as delightful as I hoped. It hung outside for almost a year, but now it's in the closet and I use the chain to air-dry his work shirt that I wash every morning.

SIX types of flooring? Wowza. You must be very excited to get it under control.

Hi Abby! He is, but he was posing a little , too. :)

I love the hammock! I totally want one now!! *eyes the trees outside*

Let's see, what is unique in my house... Well, we run our fridge off a windmill that we put up in the backyard. But that's outside. Hmm...

Well, here's one. We don't have a couch but instead use an inflatable air mattress for when we want to lay down and watch a movie. (we have chairs for other times)

Melanie Hooyenga said...

Nadine, the windmill is so cool! I have friends in Missouri that have a couple windmills that they use to generate quite a bit of their personal electricity. And they have names. :P

The air mattress definitely qualifies as unique, lol.

This looks cool. I'd love a hammock.

But the thing I really want is a beanbag or beanbags in my loungeroom to watch movies with.

We don't have much in the way of weird except a photo of Rupert Murdoch with a pirate sword through his face stuck in a vase. That raises eyebrows usually.

Melanie Hooyenga said...

ROFL!! I guess. :)

We had a bean bag growing up. It rocked.

Ibis looks pretty damn happy in that hammock! :)

Robin, we've been fighting over it ever since.
