Happy Monday everyone. Did you have a nice weekend?
I have literally nothing new to report. Ibis worked all weekend, I did a little editing and watched a couple movies, then dealt with an army of cockroaches taking over my garbage can just as I was heading to bed last night. Man, the sound of them scratching inside the bag as they died a slow, poisonous death was enough to give me nightmares.
*shivers*
But other than that, it was business as usual.
My edits are coming along slower than I'd like and I'm getting frustrated with myself. I keep saying that tomorrow I'll crack down, then today I'll really get a lot done, but I can't get my mind to focus. I have a little more web work to do today so maybe that'll help get my mind in gear.
I posted my latest flash fiction piece on Saturday. If you haven't read it yet, please check it out -- I'd love to hear what you think.
Anything new going on with you? Are you enjoying the warmer weather where you live?

OMG I just got some major goosebumps from your cockraoch situation...
I hear ya on the slowing down of the editing process. I am having trouble with that too. With this weather getting nicer it will be a lot harder to do it. It'll come to you in time, I'm sure.
I've been enjoying golfing in my golf league. It just started up; today is my second game. Other than that, I've been hanging with the puppy!
Hope la Cucarachas stay away!!!
Yeah, the cockroaches? Bleck. We've had a few HUGE whoppers here, and they make my skin crawl.
Good luck with edits this week!
EMC, I miss golfing. I didn't go regularly, but I've golfed my whole life and I like walking through the course.
Janna, these almost looked more like beetles... I don't know. There were smaller cockroaches too.
The new animated Dreamworks film, "Monsters vs. Aliens in 3D" has a scientist who tried to give himself cockroach survival strength, but ended up turning himself into a giant cockroach. I'm thinking you wouldn't like him visiting you for tea and garbage, huh?
Maybe you should write a little horror FF piece inspired by the cockroaches dieing in the trash can. You already painted quite an image with just those two sentences!
No warm weather for us today. Just heavy clouds and the threat of some more rain.
Have a good Monday!
Robin, BLECK!! Hell no. Now I don't even know if I want to see that movie, lol.
Turkey, I actually started one a while back but never finished it. Maybe I can revisit it while the memory is, uh... fresh.
Do you remember that show from a while ago on MTV (or Comedy Central, I can't remember) called Joe's Apartment? With the guy who was friends with all the roaches in his apartment. I could never understand that.
Sorry about all the roaches. But great that you got rid of them!
Good luck with your editing!!
Icky cockroaches! Still struggling with this essay. I can't WAIT until it's done, but it refuses to write any faster than it will write. Grrr. Then I doubt I will every write non-fiction again! It's been a great experience, though, I wouldn't take back all the study I did for the world.
But I can't wait to get back to focusing on my fiction.
I just turned on my heat.
Nadine, I've never seen that show, but it sounds disgusting. Makes no sense to me. :)
Spy, are you almost finished with it at least? I feel like you've been working on it forever!
Melanie- You need to get back here so we can play nine holes ;) You don't golf at all around there?
Nadine- I rememeber Joe's Apartment on MTV. I tried to watch it once, couldn't make it through. Stephen King also had a short film. I think it was like Creepshow... that was awful, just a small, stark room with a million little black legs crawling over everything... *shudder*
EMC, I'm not allowed to golf anymore. :( I have a bad back -- fractured vertebrae and bulging disc -- and the swinging motion makes it worse. Baseball is out too, but I still play tennis (or did in Chicago).
Nothing new with me either, except that it's bloody cold in Melbourne!
When I moved from Sydney to Melbourne I was shocked by the drop in temperature so I was lucky the move meant an extra body in the bed ;)
Ben, I forgot you're heading into winter. But an extra body is always nice. :P
I'm new here! What brings you down to Mexico?
Hi T. Anne! If you look beneath my picture there's a link called Hoo Am I: The Answers that explains things pretty well.
