I've Conquered the Chihuahuas

As I've mentioned before, I've been going to my friend's house every other day to play with her dogs while she's out of town. I bring my notebook with me every time, but never manage to pull it out. They're just so cute!

Well, yesterday I finally did some writing while over there. I'd worn out the animals by running them all over the house and yard, so when they finally settled down to nap, I started writing. I haven't had a pet as an adult and there's something very soothing about having a puppy curl up against your leg while you write. He popped his little head up every time I turned the page, but after a couple strokes he went back to sleep.

The best part is I have arrived at my final scene. I'm so close! (Oddly, that's the last line I wrote yesterday.) Another day or two and I will be finished with the first draft.

Woo-hoo!

(btw, there is no sarcasm present in this post)

Congrats Mel... that's awesome. Nothing is better than puppies curled up against your legs while you do anything that requires sitting down. I think that's great.

"I've Conquered the Chihuahuas" should be the title to a book, by the way!

I am convinced that I could write better if I had a pet against my leg. I think I'll go beg the landlords. I want a puppy!

LG, you're very right. Hopefully we'll have our own soon.

Thanks Janna!

Colby, I should really write all these down...

Nadine, do it!

Yay! Hahahahaha @ btw there is no sarcasm in this post.

Yeah I love writing with a fur-baby in tow. So cute.

And I've got one chapter left to write on the novella. I got 1,910 words last night.

Zoe that's awesome! I noticed the ticker on your blog says 93% complete, or something like that. You're almost there. :)

Congratulations! I agree with Lostgirl. There is absolutely nothing more relaxing than a warm little puppy curled up against your legs. My dogs jump up on the back of the couch and rest their chins on my shoulder and I almost die of excessive love.

Pets are soothing. Cha, right.

See these grey hairs? This nervous twitch? The bottles of Pepto-Bismol by my bedside for my ulcer?

Damned little beasties.

OK, my dalmatian is curled up next to me. I guess they're OK. Now I can get some writing done, too. :)

I just found your blog but WAY TO GO! I dream of the day my WIP's first draft is finished, knowing full well it will then be a matter of it becoming my WIP's final draft.

Good luck!!! :)

I'm so excited for you. Finishing the first draft is a big deal.

I had a Chihuahua as a kid. His name was Pedro. Ornery little sucker, but I loved him to bits.

Now I have two parakeets. One of them will fly over and sit on my finger, and if I hold real still, he'll fall asleep there. It is SO cute. But it's absolutely impossible to type with a bird napping on your finger.

Robin, the older Chihuahua (Coco) kept doing that to me. Then she'd crawl down my chest. Lucky also dove onto my notebook and poked a hole in a page. :)

Ed, you can't convince me you don't love it.

Melody, LOL! Oh, that image is hilarious!
