Good Morning

I haven't been sleeping well with the heat (101 yesterday with the heat index) and my brain is fried from all this editing, so I took some pictures for you instead.

First we have our neighbor's tree. I believe it's a mango tree, and it's gotten much greener in the past couple weeks (even though it's only rained twice).

Next are a few of the neighborhood dogs. They hang out at this house (if you look closely you can see a pile of garbage on the patio -- I'm assuming that's their food) and I often see them walking on the wall along the side. From our viewpoint it looks like they're walking on the roof of the next house.

Another neighbor has come up with an ingenious solution to sleeping comfortably -- they've put their bed outside. We're not sure how long it will last once the rains come, but for now it must be much cooler than inside their house. A hammock is also set up next to the bed.

And finally, sunrise.

I assume you know this, but these are all taken from my balcony. :)

Mango tree? *Looks closely at the image* It almost looks like cannabis. Got any brownie mix?

I could zoom out a little for you...

Wow! They almost look like cats! I thought they were cats at first.

I love sleeping outside. :-)

(Please don't tell me any bug stories about sleeping outside. You'll ruin me for life. :-)

Great pics. You really have an interesting muse over there.

Spy- I thought they looked like cats too ;)

Turkey- I would eat a brownie... are you makin' some??

If I took pics out my deck there would be a row of identical houses with maybe a tree and some grass... Bor-Ring. Sorry it's so hot :(

*Leaves a plate of brownies for everyone who visits Mel's blog.* Here you go!

Spy, let me direct your attention to the mosquito net draped over that bed, and I won't say anything.

There are a lot of cats, too, but they usually run away when they see me.

Erica, that's funny. :P Maybe you could use the zoom and catch nature in action.

Turkey, you're so generous. :)

Interesting that they are sleeping outside. Is that a confined courtyard? I would hate to wake up with someone standing next to me. Eek!

Love the pics!

Yes, it's closed in. :)

I always love your pictures, Mel.

Thanks Wendy! I always feel so lazy when I do a picture day.

I thought it was interesting that they were sleeping outside, too. I don't think I'd dare try that where I live. Not that it's that dangerous a place, but...

we live in the country and there are skunks and raccoons at night.

Great pictures! I love sleeping outside, but does the net really keep away the mosquitoes? What if one got caught underneath and just gnawed on you all night? Since I have had a giant mosquito bite on the center of my cheek for the past week (looks just like a big zit), this is a subject close to my heart at the moment.

Melanie Hooyenga said...

Robin, if they get caught beneath the net you're screwed.

Funny, I have a zit that looks just like a bug bite. Or a zit. They do look quite similar.
