My Dad Arrives Today!

That about says it. His flight lands at 4:30 then we'll get him settled in his apartment. Did I mention that? He's rented a small apartment downtown that's within walking distance from the market, the beach, and all the bars and restaurants. Not a bad way to spend two months.

If I know my dad, and I think I do, we'll spend the three hours after he lands buying whatever he needs to feel comfortable. Some people like to relax when they land, maybe pick a place for dinner, but not him. He won't sit still until everything is to his liking. Ibis works until 8pm so that will actually work out so we can all go together, rather than him meeting us when we've nearly finished.

I'm not where I want to be with my edits/rewrites, but that's okay. I'm getting there. Since he's not staying with us I won't be "entertaining" nonstop and he assures me he won't get in the way of my "schedule." I have to quote schedule because I'm so bad at sticking to one that I really don't think I should call it that.

Dad left just in time. We had about 6 inches of snow last night and expect another 3-6 tomorrow. The temperature is supposed to be below 10 degrees for HIGHS next week, with wind chills about 20 below zero. I can't wait until I get there in 2 weeks!

Mom, he got out just in time! That's crazy it's going to be so cold. Good thing you only have two weeks until you're here too. :)

Thanks Janna, Aaron & Colby. :)

Jen, I know I shouldn't, but I can't help it. I got through 24 pages yesterday and wrote 200 new words, so that IS good.

That is wonderful! It'll feel good to have family nearby! Mine just announced he is retiring this year after 31 years of teaching. We are looking forward to seeing him more often, now that he doesn't have to stick with the school schedule. :) Have fun with your dad!!

I hope you have a nice visit with your dad! :) Good thing that he missed all that bad weather.

Turkey, mine just retired this past year, which is why he's coming for so long. He's still figuring out what to do with all his time. :)

Have a great time with your dad, Melanie! Does he like weird food? Will he and Ibis buy some of those dead animals at the market? I hope so! :)

Robin, I don't know about that. He's really excited about buying this cheese they have fresh in the market, that's all he's been talking about since he landed. :P
