Oh, I meant to tell you that at the conference I attended last week, lots of the editors seemed super interested in the whole "foreign culture" thing, and I thought of your WIP. Get on it!
I "roughed it" in Zihuatanejo, Mexico for three years with my (now ex) husband while we waited for his US visa. Well, we didn't really rough it -- we had running water & glass in the windows, but it was really hot.
He was denied in September 2009 & I returned to Michigan in February 2010, and while our story ended there, mine continues at Hoosblog and my dog, Owen, is documenting his life on Instagram.
I'm no longer posting to this blog, but I'm leaving it online so you can read about our journey. Check out the links under Posts That Explain Things to get the basics, or the tags at the bottom for specific categories.

It is so pretty, Melanie! Both the sunset and the kitchen. I have kitchen envy. Yours is gorgeous!
Thanks! But it's TINY!
The kitchen looks great!
That is a gorgeous sunset! Love it when you post pictures of things in your area.

Awesome Wendy! Thanks for letting me know. I've decided to put all my efforts into my novel so I'll do my best!
Great pics! The counter turned out perfectly. However, I still don't see a toaster oven. (hehe) :)
OMG, yesterday we were digging through paperwork and saw the manual for the toaster oven. He got all sad and said in a quiet voice, "my toaster."
Poor thing.
That kitchen looks fantastic. And hubby looks so proud. Good work!
You don't have to feel like a real writer...you ARE a real writer :-)
