Happy Valentine's Day

Happy V-Day everyone. :)

I have a busy day today, with two trips to the airport and a grocery store run for people who are supposed to arrive at 2am (which technically means three airport trips). We're hoping to go to a place in Ixtapa that's having a salsa dancing competition (no, we'll just be watching) but after a long day, odds are good Ibis will be tired. I may have to get my romance in the string of movies on tv today.

I got comments from my final beta reader yesterday, and while it certainly wasn't a love-filled valentine, he made a lot of good points that my other readers didn't mention. Whether that's because he was the only man to read it, because the others were just being nice, or what have you, I have a lot of work to do! I haven't done any new writing so far - just plotting for the expanded character - so now I can finally jump in.

So, it looks like it'll be a busy day for me. Do you have special plans?

Yay that your Beta comments arrived!

Not sure our plans for the day. We talked about going scuba diving this morning. Then for this evening, we were going to go salsa dancing but we found out the band didn't start till 10pm and we're early birds, so we may just have a nice meal at home.

Nadine, I didn't know you salsa dance! We're having the same dilemma - everything starts so late I don't know if we'll make it. He has to pick some people up at the airport at 2am so we're thinking that might be the only way to keep him awake, lol.

What movies are you going to watch?

We are just chilling today. Hubby spoiled us girls with french toast and chocolate candy. Then I had the thrilling task of mopping the floors. My youngest is a crumb dropper, so now the ants are discovering her 'treats'. Bleh!

I haven't actually turned on the TV so I don't know what's playing. In the past couple days I've watched Monster-In-Law and Chasing Liberty (loving Matthew Goode, yum) and I think it's more of those types of movies for "Valentine's Week."

French toast sounds delicious! Mopping, not so much.

We took lessons last year. We're not great, but we know the basics. The salsa band was playing only 10 minutes from where we live so we thought it would be fun, but as it starts at 10pm, can't do it.

Good luck with the 2am airport run!

Happy Valentines Day to you as well.

No special plans. Maybe a bit of furniture shopping.

Sounds like your beta was candid--that's a good thing if you agree with his comments.

We are just going out to dinner for ValDay. Off to rockin downtown Southampton, NY.

Nadine, we ARE going at 10pm, ugh. I think I need a nap first.

Travis, good luck with that!

Wendy, I think I agree with his comments. ;) Most of them anyway.

Have fun at dinner!

Hi Melanie! Hope you had a great Valentine's day! We spent the day traveling, but that was fine. I tried to con Adam into buying me a really nice watch on the ship, but he wasn't biting. I should have gotten him drunk before he saw it. Dumb me.

I think it's great to have a Beta reader be straight with you. I dreaded having a friend give me her book, because I knew it would be hard to say anything negative, for fear I'd hurt her feelings. I'm a shitty Beta.

Welcome back Robin! I can't believe you haven't already perfected how to get Adam to buy you whatever you want. ;)

Yeah, the comments have given me a lot to think about.

I hope it was a nice V-Day for you! I cleaned, organized, and wrote. It was okay. Off to do that again! :-)

I also got a little editing gig! Yay!

Spy, that's awesome! You'll have to tell me more about it - I'm very curious about editing jobs right now.

My V-Day wasn't too exciting. I spent most of the day alone, then we went dancing at 11pm for two hours. THAT was fun, but not long enough.

My wife and I salsa dance all the time. I sit at the table eating chips with Salsa and she line dances until her legs fall off.

Enjoy the hard-biting comments while you can. They soon run out as you get better with the self editing.

Happy belated Valentine's Day.

Allen, well that's one way to look at it... :)

Your kind of salsa dancing sounds like a lot of other people I know, lol.
