Can you believe it's already the end of the first week of February? In 2009? Sheesh.
I'm feeling a bit under the weather today so this will be a short one. Nothing serious, I just don't know how long I can sit in front of a computer today.
We watched The Curious Case of Benjamin Button last night (well, I watched it, he fell asleep after 20 minutes) and wow, it lives up to all the hype. A lot of the story focuses on the relationship between Benjamin and Daisy, but it also follows his peculiar life as he grows younger. The story is framed with a old woman telling the story in New Orleans as Hurricane Katrina approaches, just another interesting touch. Needless to say, I bawled. I mean, sobbed. I haven't cried like this since The Notebook, which means I highly recommend it.
I'm also in the last 200 pages of Breaking Dawn - this one is 754 pages - and hope I can get the Cullens out of my head once I finish.
Any good books or movies to recommend?

Oh goodness, I wanted to see that really badly and that settles it. It's going on my list!
I recommend Change of Heart by Jodi Picoult. I'm really enjoying her writing, and am surprised I hadn't picked her up sooner.
Hope you get to feeling better!
I think I might have mentioned this book before."Coctails For Three" by Madeleine Wickham. It is a fun story... kinda like "Sex in the City".
I could tell Ben Buttons would be a heartbreaking story. Which is why I am steering clear. But I am glad that you liked it!
Hope you feel better soon!!
Janna, be sure to bring tissues!
I just grabbed Picoult's Plain Truth and The Tenth Circle - they were both on the lending shelf at Ibis' hotel. I've yet to read anything by her.
Turkey, you did mention that, I'll have to remember it, thanks!
I loved Benjamin Button! have you seen the fake trailer comparing it to Forrest Gump?
Scroll down and watch the video clip:

funny, huh? but it's still a good flick :)
Janet, that's odd because I kept thinking during the movie that it reminded me of Forest Gump.
Oh, I second Change of Heart...it's really good. In fact, there are very few of Jodi Picoult's books I haven't enjoyed. (Side note: the only one I didn't like was Mercy).
Wasn't it great? I loved it! It is FAR better than the short story. The movie really nailed it.
I have to read the rest of the Twilight series!
Wow, you bawled??
Makes me want to see this movie too.
I recommend Lisa See's Snow Flower and the Secret Fan.
Colby, I'll have to look for that title.
Spy, I thought it came from a story, but didn't realize it was a short story. Yes, they did a wonderful job.
Pink, yes, bawled. But I think I might be a tad hormonal. ;)
Thanks for the suggestion!
I hope you feel better soon!
I am, Zoe, thanks!
I liked Button! Well, it was a bit depressing at times, but I still liked it. :)
