Follow Me, Follow You

[Warning: Shameless plug ahead]

Did you know you can follow me? As if, follow my blog? There's a gadget halfway down the page that says "Follow Me" and if you click it, you too can be a follower!

Now, I can already hear some of you grumbling that you're an individual and don't like to follow along with the crowd, but if you look at the gadget, I don't exactly have a crowd. I've started paying attention of friends' blogs and most of them have a lot more followers than me.

I know I shouldn't care, but it got me worrying that you think I'm boring or you don't really like what I have to say. Then it occurred to me that there's the outside chance you just didn't know you could follow me. That you weren't aware that possibility existed.

So, if you like me and you just didn't think to do it before, how about you click the little gadget? I swear it won't hurt. (Unless I decide to lob a grenade through the intrawebs, in which case I promise to aim at the people who irritate me, and clearly YOU are not one of those people.)

This will be very embarrassing if I don't gain any new fans, or worse, I lose some people, but that's a chance I'm willing to take.

btw, by following me, I won't actually do anything to you, other than occasionally smile at your teeny profile picture when I check out my followers.

Thanks. :)

I didn't really understand the "follow me" thing, because I follow blogs on Google Reader (yours being first, of course). I'll bet your thousands of readers are all following on Google Reader.

That's a good point. Hopefully people will tell me if they follow me through google reader. It has seemed like my hits have increased but I'm horrible about tracking that stuff.

How does one know if they're followed through Google Reader?

And, I'm so durn proud to admit, Melanie - I was one of your first followers.

Flowers and candy would be thanks enough. ;)

I have no idea, but I'd love to find out.

Anyone?

I'll send you all the flowers and candy you'd like!

I don't even know how to get Google Reader, so I'm not much help there, sorry.

The new following format is kind of hard for me to use; not sure I like it.

But I follow you already, you didn't even have to ask ;-)

Pink, yeah it is a little confusing. I'm glad you're a follower!

Hey M - Are you set up on feedburner? I could probably explain it, but if you want to change your blogger sign-in info and send it to me, I can jump into your account, set it up, and then tell you how to check your stats. I adore feedburner. And if you don't want to let me hack - um, modify - your account :) - no worries, I'll work on a tutorial.

I had you on my Google Reader, so I was following you that way, but after this post, I have officially added myself as a follower.

LOL - But my mommy told me always to be a leader... LOL.

Speaking of, one of these days I'll get a blog going.

Nadine, see, that's what I was worried about... the whole "if everyone jumped off a bridge would you do it too?" guilt trip. Thanks for joining the flock, lol.

I recently found your website in an old email I had, but you should totally start a blog!

Aerin, I'm not on feedburner. Is there a link or site I can go to figure it all out?

I was one of the peeps who didn't know what that "follow me" thingy was, until I was reading another blog and hubby told me to click the "follow me" thingy. I'll need to find a proper little pic.. or figure out how to make one. *Scratches blond head*

I think most of the people who follow me on my blog also follow you on yours. We all just follow each other around. Follow the yellow brick road.

I just clicked on it. :)

Aww Spy, thanks. :)

Janna, you are a funny, funny lady. :P

You too Miss Turkey.

Wendy, you're right. I think Janna is the one who had lots more than me and made me jealous. :)

I'm impressed. I have no problem following, but have a big problem figuring out how to do this for myself.

And, um, what's the purpose of it anyway? Not being snide or sarcastic, just really curious. Although I do like the idea of little photos of my bloggy friends showing up on my blog!

Amy, I have no idea. But because Blogger gave me the option, I choose to obsess about it, lol. :)
