July is Hot

Yesterday I realized it was a year ago this weekend that my mom first visited Zihua. It'd be pretty hot up until that point, but her visit coincided with the hottest week of the summer. It was bearable before she arrived, and it cooled off once she left, but those four days she was here... whew!

I remembered all this as I was walking through the plaza yesterday to meet a friend and I wasn't dripping with sweat. Usually, if I'm outside for more than ten minutes, I need another shower. Don't get me wrong, after window shopping for two hours then eating lunch outside, I was highly in need of some soap, but the temperature was almost balmy compared to how it's been for the past month.

I have a thermometer in my house that also gives the humidity level (50-60% is considered normal). It's actually below 80 degrees inside today (78) but the humidity is the highest it's been this year: 85%.

Can you hear me dripping from there?

UPDATE: As soon as I posted, my satellite lost the signal due to a sudden downpour. I went online to check for storms and found this:

We're between Colima and Acapulco. Batten down the hatches!

It's only about 70 here on the East End of Long Island, but it's been a cloudy and dreary July 4th weekend. Oh well, at least it didn't rain.

Stay cool! I recommend several icy margaritas.

Sorry it's been so yucky Wendy. I hope there were still fireworks!

We've had the best 4th of July weekend weather since I can remember. Upper 70s to mid 80s every day with humidity low (a little higher today). Living in a resort area, it's just what we needed to get and keep the tourists here spending their money! We just got back from golfing for the second time this weekend. What fun!

We had a weekend like Melanie's mom. Saturday, when our lake's official celebration took place with fireworks and all, was cool and breezy, around 75 maybe? Perfect!

And then today is muggy, hot and miserable...

Maybe your mom herself makes the weather hotter? ya think? :P

Mom's have these powers you know.

The weather is perfect up here, lots of sunshine. (Cleveland area is really cloudy, so it's a relief.)

Now that looks like hurricane headed your way, sheesh! Staying inside during a storm is fun, though. I love storms.

I'm glad everyone has had a good weekend!

It has been raining and blowing all afternoon! Our satellite keeps cutting out but at least I saw the end of the Men's Final match. Now if only the fog would lift so I can see the mountains...

Oh darn, another big one and it's just missing us again. Well batten down the hatches and stay dry, darlin. Albondigas!
