Overload

It's been a busy couple days -- for me anyway -- and you'd think I'd have plenty to talk about, but I'm drawing a complete blank. I've played even more games, Owen's lost more teeth, we've had a couple crazy thunderstorms, and my computer almost died, yet nothing is inspiring me for a post.

Seems to be contagious among my blogging friends.

Maybe it's because we had daylight savings on Sunday while the US doesn't switch until this coming weekend. It's been dark when I get up and perhaps that's screwed up my head. Who knows...

So, do you have plans for Halloween?

Busy, busy!

Just dressin' up the girls and takin' 'em trick or treating. Our town is a great place to do so, so I know it'll be a good night.

I'm having a huge Halloween party at my place. The house looks awesome. My costume will be also awesome.

And then waking up to clean the house and start NaNoWriMo.

As my son is 21, Halloween has had an adult feel to it for many years. This year, however, we have some friends coming over with their two year old.

I can't wait to have a young and frightened child screaming through the house again. We've got ghouls, monsters, and things that go bump in the night.

I'll bet all those months of potty training are going down the drain this weekend... (pun intended. I crack myself up.)

Janna, that's great for the kids!

Benjamin, I don't suppose you're sharing your costume idea... ? Oy, that's right -- NaNo is the next day.

Allen, that does sound like fun. I can't remember the last time I've spent Halloween with anyone not in my age range, if ever.

Didn't you and I spend a Halloween together once?
If you did then you have that covered. With someone older in age, and younger in maturity.

Yes! And that was one of my favorite costumes. I think the fact that it was a Halloween WEDDING makes it even more special. Do you remember cutting out all those felt leaves in my living room?

I'll be on a driving marathon back and forth to my hometown. I don't know if you knew but my mom owns a costume rental business. So, I'm heading there tomorrow to help out in the shop. Then I'll drive back to Chicago on Friday afternoon to go to a Halloween party at Andrew's brother and sister-in-law's. Then I'll get up Saturday morning and drive back to help in the costume shop. And then I'll drive back to Chicago on Sunday. I'm tired just typing it out!

Lisa, I had no idea! Have fun. :)

Penguin, uhh, disregard that comment. I got my big tall GR guys confused.

HA! I posted something similar! LOL

We are dressing up the kids and taking them on a 'spooky walk' along our 'old town'. Then off to do some T&Treating in our neighborhood with a few of their friends. (Both kiddos will be leopards)

Yup, lotsa plans!

I'm going to take the batteries out of the doorbell, turn the hall light off, close the curtains and write.

Bah humbug. ;-)

I love Halloween! We won't get any trick or treaters where we live (cause we're off in the boonies, lol) so I'm going to a friend's house in town and we'll hand out candy.

And in between handing out candy, we are going to make caramel apples - not for the kids, but for ourselves. I'm so excited! I haven't had one in years!!

Ugh. Daylight savings time. Don't remind me. Double ugh.

I'm planning on tying a noose around my neck and pretending to hang myself. I'll leave a fake suicide note saying that if only the kids had studied more, I would have lived. They'll be so relieved that it's a joke that they'll stop goofing off! I'm a genius!

Isn't that odd that it's been contagious? My blog-block has been driving me nuts. I've been feeling really pressured to write a lot. But you must be crazy busy! So much to do and think about.

Halloween is going to be spent on the road. No Samhain ritual, but I think it's appropriate I'll be spending it driving to my new life!

Since Halloween is on a Saturday, I'm taking them for their first suburban trick-or-treating experience. It's fine in the city (we live near lots of townhouses that go ALL OUT) but something about traipsing through yards makes me happy.

My girls are unconvinced.

Nadine, I adore caramel apples. I'll take caramel over chocolate any time, and I especially like fruit-based desserts so that's just heaven on a stick!

Elana, it kind of snuck up on me. Fortunately I'd marked my calendar or I might not have realized as soon as I did.

Natasha, yes! What's the deal lately? I'm so happy for you that you're on your way to the OPEN ROAD! Woo-hoo!

Wendy, they totally have to have a suburban trick-or-treating experience!

Hi Melanie! I was working on a post about Halloween in Mexico and found your blog after I Googled to see if anyone else was celebrating Halloween.

I live in a small town in Mexico, so Halloween is still a little controversial. But, I dress my kids up every year and take them downtown to El Jardin.

Halloween is my favorite. My hubs and I are going to see Paranormal Activity, and we have the annual event at the mall that I coordinate.. also really fun. Should be a good day. That sucks about your computer. I hope it's not something serious...

Hi Leslie!

The celebrate here, but they also have a huge event in the plaza for Day of the Dead. To me that's more interesting that watching a zillion pirates and ghosts running around. :)

Erica, that sounds like a fun day!
