Finally

It seems like I've been waiting for this year to end since it started.

I've been thinking over 2009 and trying to come up with something cheerful to say, something that will spin the negative into positive (which I'm very good at), but I keep getting stuck. The two things that stand out are getting Owen over the summer, and my grandmother finally coming home in mid-December. Other than that, meh.

(Well, meeting my writing friends and my middle school friends ALSO ranks quite high...)

This year has been tough for more people than I could ever list here, in more ways than I really should list here (and believe me, I wrote a two-page post that does not need to see the light of pixels), so instead let's raise a toast to 2010.

*raises fat-free Hazelnut-creamer laden coffee above head*

Here's to you!

I stopped making resolutions years ago, but if you have any, let's hear 'em!

New Year's resolution:

1. Love the people around me more than ever.

3. Earn peace through my own efforts, even if it is only in my small little world.

4. Encourage others writers to write.

5. Sell my next novel.

6. Laugh at those things that make me sad or angry.

7. Not cry when I fail miserably at those resolutions.

Now i'd like to read the 2-page post. :) The best is ahead for you, Mel. Have a fantastic new year and I look forward to our friendship going forward.

Mel,

I really, really, really hope that both you and Ibis have a much better 2010. Keep those positive thoughts going!

I also quit doing New Year resolutions years ago but always begin my new year on the 1st thinking of it as a clean slate and what I would like to accomplish in the year. But no pressure!

Allen, love your resolutions! 4 and 5 don't apply to me but I am adding the rest to my "possible accomplishment list"!

Here's to a fresh start!

Keep yer eyes peeled for my year end blog post. It'll have good bits, bad bits, resolutions AND a few half arsed attempts at humour! ;-)

Adam

PS - Don't actually peel your eyes.
PPS - Seriously.

You all make me smile. :)

Allen, I agree, that's a great list! I do have some writing goals for myself, but they started long before the new year.

Jason, I started it with the intent to share, but it quickly devolved. I think you already know all my issues. :P I'm looking forward to hearing more about YOU.

*clamps hand over Stacey's mouth* CHEERS!

Thank you Mary. You really got to see my grumblings, so thanks for putting up with me.

Kev, I miss the MH! Take it easy there buddy. Aren't you on restriction now?

Adam, thanks for the heads-up. I was about to literally peel them. ROFL. I'll check yer post. ;)

I hope 2010 is a kick-ass year for you Melanie. I really do.

Let's see, resolutions...

Landing a top agent, getting a 7 figure book deal plus a movie deal, getting paid to cruise around Europe - Oh? You wanted realistic goals?

I'll have to think about those. :)

Ha ha! No way you drink fat-free Hazelnut-creamer laden coffee! That's my caffeine delivery vehicle of choice, my gateway drug to espresso! In fact, I have a giant cup of it in front of me right now.

As for resolutions, I don't know yet.

And as for 2009, don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out, bub.

Nadine, I think those are FABULOUS goals! If even ONE comes true we'll be celebrating across the ocean.

*gives door a final kick*

Lurker, we can't get the flavored creamer in Zihua, so I've been lapping it up like a malnourished kitten. That's my flavor of choice.

I am hoping your 'end of year' update for 2010 will be typed in a Canadian accent!! Eh?

I'm so ready for a fresh start and a fabulous new year!

I hope 2010 rocks for you, Melanie!

(I love Hazelnut creamer!)

JLC, that possibility is becoming less and less likely...

Thanks Natasha!
